A kid going to school enters the school bus and notices that an elderly bus driver has replaced the regular driver. He begins talking to the "new" driver. Their discussion develops to real talk on the development of bus transportation in Israel.

Boy:   Good morning!

Driver:   Hi!

Boy:   I see that you're a "new" driver! What's your name?

Driver:   Shmulik, and what's yours?

Boy:   Danny. How old are you?

Shmulik:   70

Danny:   Wow! How long have you been a driver?

Shmulik: About 50 years now. I really love driving. I've seen the development of busses in all these years.

Danny: Cool! How were busses once?

Shmulik: Which years do you mean?

Danny: Tell me in general!

Shmulik: Well, it's a long story! Let's start about 60 years ago when I started riding in busses. That was at the beginning of the period of busses. The busses we had then were old and falling apart. The first busses we had were British army trucks left over from World War I, converted to busses! In 1948, during our War of Independence, we had to travel on the armored Super Whites.

Danny: Was it comfortable in those busses?

Shmulik: No! After the war we rode on the newer model: the GMC.

Danny: Was that one armored?

Shmulik: No, there wasn't a need for armored busses anymore!  As you can see, today the busses have greatly advanced and will continue to develop in the future.
