Student Comments About Working On GVC Project

Adina     I had a great time doing this project.  First of all, it was a lot of fun.  In addition, this project gave me a lot.  I learned a lot about medical progress.  I also learned how to do proper research and how to summarize it in a few paragraphs.  I also learned how to make internet pages and understand much better how the internet works. Finally, I learned how to correct written web pages and the project improved my English a great deal.  Interviewing people was a great experience for life.

Alex     Working on this project was a great experience to be a part of.  It was definitely a more fun project to do and it was also cool since we had a lot of interaction between people working on it from Canada to the US to Israel.  Although in the beginning it took some time for everyone to get motivated to work on the project, everyone came through in the end and contributed to make a great presentation.  I hope everyone else had fun making it and that people will enjoy it.

Philippe     Working on the GVC34 competition was a great experience for me. I enjoyed working with new (software) programs like Swishmax--I love that program so much!  I also enjoyed working with Mott students who are 3 years older than me...Last, I loved it when I had a birthday cake (during one of the after-school GVC work sessions)!

Naama     As a student who speaks only Hebrew, I feel that I have really improved my English.  In the past few months I worked a lot in English reading for my research or translating research with help from other people.  Of course, I really improved my work with computers.  I learned a lot about life in other countries from the interviews I did.  I really enjoyed participating in this project and I gained much from it.

Lindsay     The GVC project helped me to Learn Photoshop and FrontPage.  It showed how different our countries are, like our languages, holidays, and schools.  Yet even though we are different we were able to find similarities and come up with a quality website.  I had a fun time getting to know people outside of this country and I'm glad I was a part of this project.

Jason     I liked experimenting with new programs such as Swishmax!

Graham      Working with people all around the world was a new experience for me.  This project was well worth the time and effort put into it because there was just more than a website that was made.  It was interesting working with some people and there were a lot of misunderstood "things", but it all eworked out just fine in the end.  When everyone pulled their weight it was just amazing to see how well our site really did flow.  I had a lot of fun working on this and I hope that other people will have fun visiting our site.

Lindsay     The highlight for me was being able to talk and work with people from other places, finishing the project and learning new things as we went along.

Talya     From working on this project, I learned how to work as a team and how to gather necessary research information.  I enjoyed the visit with Izi Man and learning about the radio and the impact of music on people's lives.  My English has improved from translating.  It was an interesting experience.  I learned how to write web pages and my ability with computers has also improved.  I am sure that this will help me in the future and I am very happy that I took part in this project.

Brian     I think that our GVC website project has helped me mature as a person.  With this project I was able to work with many different people from many different cultures in a unique situation--building a website, which is by no means a small task.  I think in the end it was interesting to see how well we pulled together to achieve the common goal of the website.  I think this project has helped me learn more about different cultures and also allowed me to help with something I like doing.  For this reason I'm glad I participated in this activity.

Mary     The highlight of working on GVC34 has been the many new people I met.  I really enjoyed getting to know other people and learning about their countries, customs, and  way of life.
